Art Car: The Movie follows Rebecca Bass and her high school class as they prepare an entry
for the 2010 Houston Art Car Parade. With almost 300 entrants and more
than 300,000 spectators, the Houston Art Car Parade is the biggest in
the world, and attracts talent from across the globe. Against the hectic race to finish on time, Rebecca exposes them to the world of art and the camaraderie of tight-knit community, offering a glimpse of what life is like "outside the box." Co-directors Carlton Ahrens and Ford Gunter traveled across the U.S.
and the world talking to artists and academics to determine why these
visionary artists can't help but decorate their cars, how that
challenges societal norms, and why we should all listen to what they
have to say. After all, they are speaking to you.
